Mandy Coon Fall 2011
My friend Melody Bainter recently became assistant designer at Mandy Coon. Saturday I went back to the tent to check out the new collection. I was very impressed by all the hard work my friend had done to make the collection possible! Such a beautiful job!

The way the show was set up it was presented on a stage and everyone was standing....so if you were short like me, photo taking proved a tad difficult. These are a few of my favorite looks but you should check out the rest here.
During the show Emilie Simon was singing and playing the grand piano. (she didn't play this song but it is one of my favorites!)
Fashion Week Fall 2011
This has been my first time actually going to shows at Lincoln Center for Mercedes Benz NY fashion week. It has been a pretty surreal/exciting experience and not necessarily what I expected. Friday evening I went with my good friend to check out my alma mater's (Academy of Art University woohoo!!) masters show. I thought the collections looked great! (I actually had a camera with me!!)

Vena Cava Fall 2011!!
This past week has been pretty hectic preparing for the show. Yesterday was the kick off for fashion week and the Vena Cava Fall 2011 show! I got to work backstage and help set things up as well as dress. It was quite the experience with so many photographers, make up people, models, and stylists running around. I snapped a few pics with my blackberry and the rest I leave to the professionals.

Lady's First Opera....
Last night a friend of mine who works for an opera magazine randomly texted me asking if I wanted tickets for an opera at the Met that night. Um, yes please!! I had never been to an opera before and WOW!! What an experience. The Met is absolutely breath taking and the opera I saw "Don Pasquale" was silly and fun. The whole evening was so surreal since it was all so last minute. Beautiful randomness is one of my favorite things about New York.
